Complete adze. Stone. Black. Cross-section is rectangular. Surface is ground, except on front and and sides of butt, which is bruised. Major differentiation between butt and blade, front reduced forming large shoulder, and sides taper slightly towards poll. Poll end slopes sharply. Bevel is demarcated by a line, cutting edge is sharp and curved, chipped. "South Canterbury, Fine grained greywacke" written on back.
