Complete adze. Brown stone. Cross-section is rectangular. Surface is ground. No differentiation between butt and blade; sides are tapered toward the poll. Bevel is continuous with the blade. Cutting edge is curved and sharp. "Saddle Hill" inscription.

Complete adze. Black stone. Cross-section is rectangular. Surface is ground and bruised. No differentiation between butt and blade; sides taper toward poll. Bevel is continuous with the blade. Cutting edge is slightly curved and sharp. "Saddle Hill" inscription.

Broken adze, blade remaining. Grey and brown stone. Cross-section is trapezoidal, with the back narrower than the front. Surface is ground. Most of butt is not present, but it appears there is some reduction where the butt meets the blade to form a shoulder. Bevel is continuous with the blade. Cutting edge is curved and sharp. "Saddle Hill" inscription. Attached sticker reads "Blythswood, Mosgiel. 6 M[..] Saddle Hill"

Minor differentiation between butt and blade, with front reduced. Bevel is continuous with blade. Cutting edge is sharp and straight. "Kaikorai Mouth" inscription

Major differentiation between the butt and blade, with front and sides reduced to form shoulders. Bevel is demarcated by a straight line. Cutting edge is straight and sharp.
