Complete adze. Quadrangular cross-section. The surface is mostly ground with some bruising on the sides and poll. There is no differentiation between the butt and the blade. The sides of the adze taper in from the top of the bevel towards the poll. The bevel is smooth and continuous with the blade. The cutting edge is straight and sharp. There is a piece of paper adhered to the back of the blade that reads: "Otekura near Port Molyneux" in pen

Complete adze. Pounamu. Mid green, dark green. Cross-section is oval. Surface is ground, sawing mark down proper left side. Undifferentiated between butt and blade, front reduced towards poll. Bevel is continuous with blade, cutting edge is blunt and curved, chipped.
