Broken adze (all but cutting edge remaining). Argillite. Black. Cross-section is rectangular. Surface is ground, with flaking around sides and back of butt, some bruising on proper right side. Undifferentiated between butt and blade, sides taper towards poll. Bevel is continuous with blade, cutting edge is broken off. "N.E.V Flats" written on poll end.

Broken adze (lower blade remaining). Stone. Mid grey. Cross-section is oval. Surface is ground on front and back, with some flaking on proper left side. Butt not present. Bevel is continuous with blade, cutting edge is sharp and curved. Partial sticker on front reads "Part of Maori A[?]e found N.E[?]..D.S. M[?] Esq.". "N E Valley" written on front.
