Complete fern root patu rakau. The handle is demarcated by a line and a reduction of the blade. The blade is worn at the tip, with surface cracks across the whole patu.

Complete adze. Cross-section of butt is oval, blade is rectangular. Surface is mostly bruised, ground patch on the front side just below shoulder of butt. Minor differentiation between butt and blade, front reduced to form shoulder. Bevel is continuous with blade, blade is blunt and curved.

Complete roughout. Cross-section is oval. Surface is flaked. No differentiation between butt and blade, sides taper towards poll. Bevel and cutting edge unfinished.

Complete wooden patu aruhe (beater for preparing fern root). Spatula shaped head with convex bruised face. Distal end rounds to gently tapering neck which runs evenly to end of handle. A natural elongated knot sits in middle of handle which is rounded at proximal end. End of head eroded and with splitting.
