Complete stone adze. The cross section is trapezoidal with front narrower than back. The surface is ground on the bevel and lower blade. There is minor demarcation between the blade and butt with some reduction of the back and sides. The upper blade, butt and poll are all flaked and bruised. The bevel is continuous with the blade. The cutting edge is straight and blunt.
Wooden taurapa/waka stern. Surface is burnt and cracked. Triangular cross section; flat top with sides tapering in toward the base. One end curved upward to form two elongated curved projections, 65mm apart, one of which has broken off. A deep groove runs below the projections on the external side to the base, with a hole in the centre. The other end appears to have a broken projection in the centre, possibly where it was attached to the waka.
