Complete flute, one end chipped. There are five perforations, one at the end, four along the top. There are two drill marks along the top, past the fourth perforation. There are many darkened, diagonal striations on one side, only four of these lines wrap around to the other side. There is a deep cut mark that wraps around the chipped end.
Taoka Māori
Complete silcrete blade. Light grey and light orange in colour. Flake scars on dorsal surface. Inclusions of quartz on blade. Unifacial retouch on left lateral margin at the medial and distal end
Broken silcrete blade, medial portion remaining. Light brown and mid orange in colour. Flake scars on dorsal surface. Unifacial retouch on right lateral margin.
Wooden spear. Oval in cross-section. Tapered to a point at distal end, the tip of which is broken. The spear head has been broken off and repaired with an adhesive. Three sets of two barbs on the top surface. The edges of the barbs and the longitudinal ridge on the top surface are notched. The proximal end, numbered separately as D48.294, has broken off in two places and been reattached with adhesive. Surface of the proximal end has geometric carvings and is charred where it has been repaired.
Wooden spear. Oval in cross-section. The distal end is separately numbered as D48.293, but has been reattached to the proximal end with adhesive. Tapered to a point at distal end, the tip of which is broken. The spear head has been broken off and repaired with an adhesive. Three sets of two barbs on the top surface. The edges of the barbs and the longitudinal ridge on the top surface are notched. The proximal end has broken off in two places and been reattached with adhesive. Surface of the proximal end has geometric carvings and is charred where it has been repaired.
Complete Asymmetrical cross-section The surface is ground and bruised. There is no differentiation between the butt and the blade, but the sides taper towards the poll. The bevel is continuous. The cutting edge is sharp, curved and very lightly chipped.
He kura
Complete tattoo chisel, of comb variety. Hafting end has two prongs. Cutting edge has five sharp teeth.
Broken tattoo chisel, of comb variety, fragment from cutting edge not present. Deep notch on either side of hafting end, as well as at the end, forming two prongs on either side of hafting end. There are small teeth along the cutting edge, fragment from proper right side broken off.
Complete bone bird spear point. Six barbs. Two small notches at base.
Broken comb made of bird bone, proximal portion and one fragment of a prong remaining. Proximal portion has notches running down each side edge. Surface is ground smooth. Cross section is half-circular.
Mahi whakairo
Complete adze. Pounamu. Light green. Cross-section is rectangular. Surface is ground, with patches of bruising. Undifferentiated between butt and blade, sides taper towards poll. Bevel is demarcated by a line, cutting edge is sharp and curved, heavily chipped on proper left and proper right sides. "Murdering B" written on back.
Complete fish gorge.
Broken fish gorge, medial portion remaining. There are notches along one side.
Broken bone need, midsection remaining. Tip is broken. Broken at sawn eye.
Bone bird spear point, small part broken off of base. Two remaining barbs and one with small part broken off.
Bone bird spear point, small part broken off each end. Eight barbs.
Complete bone bird spear point. Four barbs.
Bone bird spear point, broken at the tip. Single barb. Knob and notches at base.
Complete one-piece fishhook. External serrations. Barbed on point and on head. Bait hook at base.
Unfinished toggle, possibly manufactured from a broken flute. One end is complete with a chipped edge, the other end is completely broken. There is one perforation off-centre, and one partial perforation at the broken edge. Along the top there is another partial perforation at the broken edge. There is a deep striation near the finished edge.
