Taoka Maori
Complete pounamu hei matau pendant. Mid-green with light brown and light green inclusions. Surface is ground. Head has one complete suspension hole, drilled mostly from one side, and one incomplete suspension hole, broken at the proximal end. There is an external knob at the head. The point is rounded and double-sided, with an incurved tip on one side edge and a knob on the external side edge.
Piece of split bone. Tapered and broken at one end; worked to a straight edge at the other end. One side edge has about 25 notches of various sizes running along it.
Broken pendant, distal portion remaining. At the broken proximal end there is a partial perforation. There is a large sawing mark down one side. The distal end of the pendant comes to a point. The surface is mostly ground, with small areas of bruising.
Broken mere, butt remaining. The break is between the butt and blade, with sawing marks on the front and back. There is a peroration hole that has been drilled from both sides. The poll is ornamented with five haehae (carved lines) on both sides.
Complete greenstone gouge. Cross-section is circular. Poll end is naturally rough, rest of surface is ground. Slight sawing mark on one side. Bevel is demarcated by a line, and the bevel is deeply concave. Cutting edge is broken.
