Complete stone chisel. The cross section is a square. The surface is ground. Both the poll and cutting edge are worn off. There is minor demarcation of the butt, with slight tapering at the poll. There is no bevel, nor cutting edge.

Complete soapstone pendant. Light grey and light brown. Surface has been ground smooth. Off-centre suspension hole, drilled from both sides. Proximal edge is rounded and distal edge is straight with a sawing mark.

Complete soapstone pendant. Light green-brown colour. Oblong shape, slightly tapered at one end, with a square cross section. Surface has been ground. Suspension hole in the centre of the pendant. Four edges have long serrated notches along them.

Broken or unfinished soapstone pendant, broken at the proximal end. Human leg form. Light brown and mid-brown. Buttocks, knee, and foot indicated by projections and corresponding indentations on side edges.

Complete soapstone whio (whistle). Surface is ground smooth. Drilled perforation at proximal end, with a oval knob projecting off one side. Distal end has a deep indentation with a chipped edge.

This replica represents Gudea who ruled from the Sumerian city of Lagash and was known for his wise administration, devotion to peace and patronage of the arts.

The laborious process of making stone vases was learned in Egypt and practised in Crete from 2500 BC onwards.

Complete black soapstone whio (whistle). Carved with a human face at one end, with projecting tongue. A drilled perforation at the top of the head for suspension, with another drill mark next to it, indicating a broken perforation. Body of the whistle is carved with spirals. Other end of whistle is hollowed out with a deep indentation; chisel marks evident on interior surface.
