Mahi whakairo
Broken piece of small adze, blade and bevel end only. Medium grey stone. Triangular cross-section. The surface is mostly flaked, with a ground area on one side of the blade. There is no obvious bevel. The cutting edge is straight and sharp.
Taoka Māori
Silcrete core. Mid grey in colour.
Broken silcrete blade, distal portion remaining. Cream, mid orange, and dark brown in colour. Cortex present on dorsal surface. Retouch on left lateral margin on ventral surface.
Silcrete core. White in colour.
Broken silcrete blade, medial portion remaining. Mid grey and mid orange in colour. Bifacial retouching present along both lateral margins.
Broken silcrete blade, distal portion remaining. Dark grey and light grey in colour. Unifacial retouching is present on the dorsal face of the proper right lateral margin, and bifacial retouching on the proper left lateral margin.
Mostly complete silcrete blade, termination not present. Light grey in colour. Bifacial retouching along the proper left lateral margin, and unifacial retouching on the dorsal face of the proper right lateral margin.
Complete adze. Light brown stone. Surface is bruised and ground. Sides and front of the butt are reduced to form shoulder. Bevel is not present due to flaking. Cutting edge is straight and flaked. "Henley" inscription. Attached sticker reads "Dr. Hocken's Collection."
Whakarite kai
Complete sinker with faint transverse lashing groove.
Rock core that is cream and light grey in colour. There is a section of the cortex present on one face.
Silcrete core, light core in colour. Cortex present on one face
Complete white silcrete blade. Dorsal surface contains a lot of flake scarring. There is unifacial retouch on the ventral face of the right lateral margin.
Silcrete flake. Black and mid grey in colour. Bifacial retouch on both lateral margins.
Mid grey silcrete flake. Weathering present on dorsal surface.
Incomplete mid grey silcrete blade, missing tip/point on the distal end. Heavy flake scarring on the dorsal surface. Unifacial retouch on the ventral surface of the left lateral margin.
Broken blade, distal end remaining. Dark grey and light brown in colour.
Silcrete tool. Dark grey and light brown in colour. Cortex present on dorsal surface. Bifacial retouch present on rounded edge.
Silcrete flake. Light grey and mid grey in colour.
Complete silcrete blade. Dark grey in colour. Unifacial retouch on both lateral margins, dorsal surface.
