Complete unfinished adze. Light grey/green stone. The cross-section is trapezoidal with the back narrower than the front. The surface is mostly bruised and flaked with a ground bevel and lower front of the blade. There is a reduction in the sides of the stone at the butt. The bevel is demarcated by the change of surface in an irregular line. The cutting edge is straight, smooth and sharp.
Complete adze. Light brown stone. The cross-section is oval. The surface is bruised and flaked. There is no distinction between the butt and the blade. The butt has a large flake scar on the proper right back. The proper right side of the bevel is ground and the left side is flaked. The bevel is continuous with the blade. The cutting edge is curved, sharp and asymmetrical. "Milford Sound" written on front.
Complete adze. Light greenstone. The cross-section is quadrangular. The surface is ground with flake scarring on the back proper right. There is no distinction between the butt and the blade. The bevel is demarcated by a line on the blade. The cutting edge is straight and sharp with a shallow chip at its centre. The adze has a piece of paper adhered to the back that reads "Moritzson Collection" and one on the front "A. Moritzson Collection". There is also a round sticker with handwritten "376" (or 3/6?)
Complete adze. Pounamu. Asymmetrical oval cross-section. The surface is bruised and flaked, and ground on the front. There is no distinction between the butt and the blade. The bevel is continuous with the blade. The cutting edge is irregular and sharp.
